Why Our Devices Work

PASS - A Unique Protocol Gets the Job Done

ERMI uses a trademarked rehabilitation protocol called Patient-Actuated Serial Stretch™ or PASS™. Our variable load/variable position devices deliver a low, medium or high load to the affected joint, which allows the patient to supply just the amount of pressure needed to stretch scar tissue without causing further injury.

During each session, the patient stretches the joint into its current end-range of motion for several minutes. The patient then rests the joint for an equal amount of time before stretching again.

Each session is divided into several mini-stretches, so the joint has time to relax, and the articular cartilage can recuperate. The result is a very gentle stretch that delivers major, lasting improvement in a matter of weeks.
